The tea ceremony (chadou, sadou,chanoyu) is a very special event in Japanese culture. The tea ceremony expresses Japanese philosophy and aestheticism. That is the mix of wa-harmonization (between human and environment), sei-soul purity, kei-respect to the others and jaku-quiet. This ceremony is often held to welcome the honourable guests or in special cases (hanami, friends’ meeting and family gathering).

Hallyu, the Korean wave or Korean fever, is not a new concept for many people. This term originated from Chinese journalists to name the high growing popularity of South Korean culture in mid-1999 in China. Nowadays, Hallyu has become a phenomenon in Asia, especially East Asia, and has spread to the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. Each year, Korea gains millions of dollars from the Hallyu effect. In addition, it increases the Korean cultural interest and opens a new door for the tourism of Korea to the world. The Korean culture also strongly influences the lifestyle of many people, especially the youth.

Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. Seeing moon cakes and colorful lanterns sold at many stores, I get good holiday feelings. To me, the feeling for waiting Mid-Autumn Festival coming has a special meaning because it reminds me of some very nice and sweet memories.

On the fifteenth of the eighth lunar month, when crops have been harvested, and food is abundant, people celebrate the Moon Festival with many special things like moon cakes, fruits, lanterns, and the unicorn dance.
