On September 29th 2018, An Giang University held the farewell meeting to Dr. Neal William Waddell with the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang – Rector of An Giang University, Heads of the External Relations Office, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Center for Foreign Languages, lecturers and students of An Giang University.
On September 28th, 2018, An Giang University launched the competition entitled “Innovative like a Swede 2018” sponsored by Embassy of Sweden and other Swedish entreprises in Vietnam and supported by Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Attending the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat – Vice Rector of An Giang University, representatives from Embassy of Sweden in Vietam, IKEA Company, Uppsala University, Heads of school divisions, and over 200 students of An Giang University.
On September 21st – 22nd, 2018, Research Center for Rural Development of An Giang University held an international workshop on “Water governance, Climate change, and Food Security in ethnic minority communities in Vietnam”. The workshop attracted the attendance of over 100 delegates from national and international institutions and organisations.
On September 20th, 2018, An Giang University celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival for nearly 300 children of the Union members. With the care for its members, the University Union celebrated this annual event to provide the members and their children with great time and amusement.
On this occasion, the children played lots of interesting games such as flash-mob dance, quizzes, and especially enjoyed the magic show.
On September 6th and 7th, 2018, Office of External Relations and Center for Foreign Languages of An Giang University co-organised the workshop on “Writing in English Efficiently” presented by Dr. Neal Waddell of The University of Queensland, Australia.
The workshop aimed to enhance the writing skills in English of An Giang University staff and students for academic purposes.
On September 14th – 15th, 2018, nine students of An Giang University took part in the regional semi-final round of the “Shine your dreams” competition with college students from Can Tho City.
“Shine your dreams” held by Dell Company is a talent and beauty competition for young people who are passionate about and active in achieving their dreams. This is the playground for the young to show their talents and broaden their relations. The two winners will then represent Dell Company in their marketing campaigns.
On September 7th, 2018, The Academic Committee of An Giang University evaluated the proposals for two materials authored by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan – Vice Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources
1. The material entitled “Rice Plant” (Course code: CUL532, credits: 02, intended number of pages: 200, chapters: 07)
On Sept. 13th, 2018, Professor. Philip Taylor – Senior Fellow of Department of Anthropology, College of Asia and the Pacific, Australian National University (ANU) known as the expert in Mekong Sub-region Studies donated his books to An Giang University (AGU).
Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang – AGU Rector; Dr. Waddell from The University of Queensland, Australia; lecturers and Heads of AGU Departments, Faculties, Centers, Library and over 100 students.
